Visit to Kent, June 2003

OastHouses036.jpg (15462 bytes)

We visited -

Kemsing (although Wybournes, the house in which Randolph & Marian lived, has since been burnt down);

Chelsfield, where we saw (among other things) the original record of Randolph & Marian's marriage, and the church which is featured in The Owls of Olynn Belfry;

Tunbridge Wells, where Marian lived with her sister after Randolph's death;

Marian Caldecott's grave, in Hawkenbury Cemetery, Tunbridge Wells.

RCSMembrs_03603.jpg (39541 bytes) RCSMembrs2_03603.jpg (69804 bytes)

MembrsWndw_03604.jpg (16215 bytes)

DeepInterest036.jpg (33115 bytes)  RCSMembers_03604.jpg (25370 bytes)

(Compare the deep interest in a unique Caldecott archive, above, with Mr Oakball's "deep interest" below:)
